The NOLA Project theatre company is opening its 2013-2014 season with a bold new play about the sudden upheaval at the city’s most established newspaper.  Set in the busiest newsroom on the unexpected eve of the most massive change to hit New Orleans newspapers, “A Truckload of Ink” vividly brings to life the human relationships, history, politics, back-room deals, and righteous fight to save a cultural institution from an out-of-state corporate dismantlement.  New Orleans’ most gifted playwright, Jim Fitzmorris, pens the timely tale inspired by real events.

The NOLA Project will perform the production Wednesdays-Saturdays, September 4-21, 2013 at The University of New Orleans’ Robert E. Nims Theatre.  The official opening night will be Thursday September 5th with a public preview performance on Wednesday, September 4th.  This NOLA Project production is presented at UNO, an institution with a rich history of producing new works for theatre.

An ensemble cast of fourteen will bring the original story to life, featuring Big Easy Award-winners Leslie Castay, Bob Edes, Jr., Tracey Collins, David Hoover, Natalie Boyd, A.J. Allegra, James Bartelle,  and other members of The NOLA Project.  The show will be directed by NOLA Project company member and Managing Director Beau Bratcher.
